Ozone (5.13d/5.14a), Shawangunks [12:13]

November 17, 2012

This might be the single most spectacular short trad climb I’ve ever seen.

I think the route is Twilight Zone (5.13b) at the Gunks in New York, but I’m not positive. EDIT: Nope, it’s Ozone (5.13d/5.14a).

Nice climb. Seems like double ropes would have cut out a lot of the rope drag.

The climb in the video is not twilight zone. this climb is called Ozone and is a 13d/14a. It is on the same wall as the original route twilight zone but climbs a more direct line and goes to the top of the cliff adding a significant amount of climbing. Ozone is a amazing route and maybe the best single pitch in the gunks. Yet to see a second ascent.

Thanks for the info, Ken. I updated the page’s title and the video information to reflect that.

I’m not sure my friend wants to be named that’s why I’m not saying his name but I witnesses a clean ascent…
